The 27-year-old television presenter and academic standout is set to represent Peru at the 75th Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico.

A Royal Coronation in Callao

CALLAO, Peru – In an elegant ceremony held on Wednesday, April 15, Luren Márquez was officially crowned Miss Peru 2026. The event, hosted at the historic Teatro Municipal del Callao, marked the beginning of a new era for Peruvian pageantry as Márquez prepares to take her place on the global stage.

The coronation was a star-studded affair, featuring the reigning Miss Universe, Fátima Bosch of Mexico, as a special guest of honor. Márquez received the prestigious sash and crown from her predecessor, the outgoing queen Karla Bacigalupo.

Beauty, Brains, and Experience

Hailing from Ica, Márquez is a multifaceted professional who perfectly embodies the modern "beauty with a brain" ideal. Her impressive academic background includes:

  • A degree in Business Administration from the University of Lima.

  • A degree in Communications from Florida International University (FIU) in the United States.

In addition to her academic achievements, Márquez is a well-known television presenter and professional model. Her victory comes as no surprise to pageant enthusiasts; she previously finished as the first runner-up at Miss Peru 2024, proving that her persistence and dedication to the platform have finally paid off.

The Road to Puerto Rico

As the newly minted Miss Universe Peru, Márquez will serve as a national ambassador, championing social causes and promoting Peruvian culture. Her primary focus now shifts to an intensive training regimen in preparation for the 75th Miss Universe competition.

The international pageant is scheduled to take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, later this year. With her dual-degree background, media experience, and seasoned stage presence, Luren Márquez is already being tipped as a formidable contender to bring the Miss Universe crown back to Peru.
